We don't have to do much to convince you that any road upon which a member of Dodge's Scat Pack travels is a road that's improved by the presence of Mopar greatness on it.
That goes for the restified '70 Charger R/T owned by Frank and Julie Guzior of Fremont, California. Frank bought it back in 1981 for $400, and since then he's completely redone his Charger, with the help of some of Northern California's talented car community.
Power comes from an .030-inch-over 440 Six Pack, built by Hollums Race Engines in Fremont, with '67 high-performance heads, Wiseco 10.5:1 pistons, Iskenderian adjustable rocker arms and Mopar Performance lifters downstream of a Mopar Performance camshaft, three two-barrel Holleys on an Edelbrock aluminum intake, 1 3/4-inch -diameter headers and 2 1/2-inch three-chamber Flowmaster mufflers. Steve Winters built the 727 with a TCI 11-inch torque converter, and a B&M shifter resides under the stock Mopar console's go forward/go backward switch.
The original Unibody got dipped to remove its old paint and undercoating, and Frank put it, "the fun began." He and Brian Griffith painted the body and undercarriage Plum Crazy, while the K-member was powder-coated and the headers and mufflers were HPC coated.
Frank kept the stock look inside the wheel wells with a set of Rallyes: 15 x 7 inches in front and 15 x 7 inches in back, wearing big Mickey Thompson bias-plies at each corner (G60-15 and L60-15).
Inside, D&S Upholstery re-did the stock seats in repro black vinyl, while a new nylon-loop carpet also went in. Also going (back) in: the stock gauge cluster, console, and AM/FM thumbwheel radio.
